This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of Examination and Insurance. This position serves as the Director, Division of Risk Management. The position provides leadership and direction to staff responsible for providing advice and analysis of statistical, financial, and economic trends of or affecting credit unions and other financial institutions.

As the Director, Division of Risk Management, you will:
Work personally with staff from the regional offices to provide guidance for the development of plans for the most complex supervisory assistance cases and for those cases possessing the largest potential impact on the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF).
Through a system of continuing macro analysis, monitor credit unions to identify risks trends and to target those credit unions representing the greatest risk to the NCUSIF.
Analyze trends, identify exception to expected results, and investigate problems. Direct the efforts of assigned staff and contractor personnel.
Direct and monitor the coordination and scheduling of division personnel, resources and functions.
Supervise subordinate staff including approving leave, enforcing agency policies, standards and procedures, recommending awards and promotions, resolving employee grievances, developing employee position descriptions and performance standards, recording verbal warnings and recommending disciplinary actions where appropriate, and assisting in the preparation of Individual Development Plans.
Serve as the primary source of information and advice for the Directors within the E&I regarding areas of responsibility, conferring with other central and regional office managers as needed.
Serve as an agency authority on inter-agency committees, such as the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, concerning matters under the division's purview.
Serve as an agency expert on the entire spectrum of supervisory actions, as well as standards, and requirements pertaining to credit union operations for the purpose of mitigating risks to the NCUSIF.
Develop management reporting plans for monitoring and controlling all division functions, and consolidates the appropriate activities and progress reports regarding them.
Advise subordinates on administrative policies, division procedures, duties, priorities, methods, and relevant technical issues through formal and informal oral and written communication.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
All applicants applying for the CU-15 level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-14 level obtained in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:
Conducting analysis to identify the risk to a depository insurance or guarantee fund; and
Providing advice and guidance to staff on resolutions to issues posing varying degrees of potential impact to a depository insurance or guarantee fund; and
Conducting training sessions with staff to share ideas on mitigating risk to a financial institution.
