This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OC/CE/PACIFIC FIELD COMMAND, INFRA & SERVICES DIVISION.
Duties
Serves as a Telecommunications Specialist, Senior Voice Engineer for Defense Switched Network (DSN), Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol (EVoIP), Enterprise Classified Voice over Internet Protocol (ECVoIP).
Serves as an action officer, telecommunications voice networks technical expert, advisor, trainer, and liaison officer for DODIN/DISN voice systems.
Defines, plans, and manages the installation and fielding of new or relocation of DODIN facilities, and develops support policies and procedures for ensuring that quality installations will obtain the highest possible DISA customer satisfaction.
Provides DODIN network-centric system support and technical advice, assists supported commands in the analysis and system configuration engineering required to improve DODIN systems, procedures, and capabilities.
Produces implementation plans; specifying equipment and technical details; participates in the preparation of Statements of Work (SOW) and bid evaluations.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a drug test position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position is subject to Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the DoD 8140 policy series for the position's required CYBER Work Role(s).
- This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to classified information and eligibility to have the appropriate security clearance as a condition of employment. May be subject to initial and random drug testing for this position, if applicable.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a government drivers license as well as the capability and willingness to drive government vehicles as directed.
- Employee may be required to travel by regularly scheduled commercial passenger or military aircraft in the performance of their assignment within Europe and to the United States.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Knowledge and comprehension of cutting-edge technology in electronics, communication, data transmission, and the security elements required for correctional operations; working as a team leader to study, monitor the installation, inspection, testing and maintain complicated and changing telecommunications systems. Creating instructional documents and train people on items such as industry rules, policies, regulations, and guidelines concerning sophisticated telecommunication systems.

Education
