The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Duties

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will: Perform general plumbing maintenance, such as maintaining plumbing to kitchen and bathroom fixtures and sprinkler systems and fuel supply pipe systems to buildings and residences. Perform general carpentry work, such as repairing, constructing, installing, and replacing doors, shelves, windows, trim, cabinets, shelves, shutters to buildings and inside of residences. Perform general HVAC work including repairing, replacing, and cleaning of HVAC systems in housing and buildings. Perform general painting, masonry work, roofing etc. Utilize a variety of materials, tools and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds. Maintain, construct, repair, and alters a variety of structures and surfaces of brick, block, stone. Performs maintenance, repair, restoration and stabilization of cultural resources. Restore, stabilize, or repair floors of brick, or stone Area Information Cuyahoga Valley National Park encompasses 33,000 acres along the banks of the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron in northeast Ohio. The park's mission is to preserve and protect the historic, scenic, natural, and recreational values of the Cuyahoga River Valley for public use and enjoyment. The Park is dominated by deciduous forest but also supports meadows, wetlands, streams and agriculture. Summers are moderately warm with average temperatures in the 70's. Winters are moderately cold with average temperatures in the 20's and 30's. Heavy snowfall is common during winter months. Excellent recreational and educational opportunities are available in the area, including hiking and biking trails, numerous restaurants and theaters, nearby shopping, and a variety of universities and colleges.
