This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin,Principal Deputy Inspector General. As an Equal Employment Specialist, you will support the TIGTA by processing requests for reasonable accommodation, maintaining the TIGTA case file for each request, guiding managers and employees through the request process while ensuring a posture of neutrality and with complete confidentiality.
Duties
As an Equal Employment Specialist, you will:
Obtain appropriate documentation from requesters of reasonable accommodation for internal review and/or review by expert medical consultants to determine whether a request for reasonable accommodation is warranted under the law and suggests alternative accommodations to management as appropriate.
Process requests for reasonable accommodation and/or accessibility pursuant to the Executive Orders, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC's) guidance, Federal civil rights laws (e.g., the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act of 2022, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993), and established case precedent while using established standard operating procedures, systems, forms, and templates, as described in both Department of Treasury and TIGTA's Reasonable Accommodation Policy and Procedures.
Participate in the interactive process, suggesting creative solutions to efficiently and effectively process requests for reasonable accommodation/accessibility.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience assisting with implementation of an organization's Reasonable Accommodation program.; AND
Experience applying EEO law and regulations.; AND
Experience representing an organization in various types of workgroups and meetings.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
