Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, is to serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO), ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified information systems, networks and data through the enhancement of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools. Enhancement of information systems security programs, procedures, and tools are specifically accomplished by conducting vulnerability assessments and ensuring all protection needs are met.

IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience serving as an Information Technology Specialist providing Cybersecurity; Experience ensuring systems are operated and maintained within security directives and procedures; Experience utilizing extensive knowledge of all areas of automation security to establish operating standards and procedures for the installation Information Security Program; Experience coordinating requirements with the responsible personnel and tracks suspense for completing required actions and reports virus problems in accordance with established procedures.
