You will serve as Data Center (DC) Operator working as a member of the enterprise team supporting the DC Service Managers in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Cloud and Computer Services (CCS) to maintain the reliability and efficiency of DC Operations, ensuring the Enterprise DC infrastructure effectively supports NASA customers and stakeholder needs. CCS provides management and support of on-premise assets, resources and underlying physical and virtual infrastructure.
Duties
Provide data center (DC) and support services to meet customer/stakeholder requirements and Service Level Agreements; assist in developing
computing needs, broker DC, cloud, and support services, and consult to advance Cloud Smart and DC Optimization
Oversee and support Enterprise DC maintenance and operations in support of CCS Service Managers, Program Leads, Operators and Technical
Experts to maintain asset inventories, manage upgrades, plan computing capacity, and ensure security compliance.
Oversee contractor teams for DC maintenance, operations, and service delivery. Monitor and report high severity issues. Support incident,
request, problem, change, configuration, release, and deployment management, ensuring continuous improvement.
Perform walkthroughs and inspections of the DC facilities infrastructure. Coordinate with facilities organizations to ensure maintenance schedules
are maintained for data center electrical/mechanical systems and report anomalies, repairs or changes.
Support implementation and utilization of DC Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to enhance the overall manageability of the enterprise data
centers facility infrastructure and systems environments.
Support the implementation of the DC Optimization Strategy by consolidating and repurposing services, systems and assets from current to
future locations aimed at enhancing service delivery and efficiency in computing services.
Ensure all enterprise DC documentation, processes and procedures are maintained and updated, including the Cloud and Computing Services
continuity of operations preparedness plan; execute the plan and related activities as needed.
Serve in other CCS roles and functions such as service owner, technical experts, Business Relationship Manager, Information System Security
Officer, Information System Security Engineer, contract Technical Point of Contact, and project lead.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
Managing more than one enterprise data center site or facility by maintaining and operating services, solutions and projects, capacity planning, asset management and upgrades and modifications for the life cycle management of applications, systems, services, equipment, mechanical/electrical infrastructure and technologies in the on--premise data centers;
Implementing, operating, and maintaining hybrid environments consisting of on-premise and cloud computing and data storage solutions, including data center modernization and/or obsolescence efforts based on architecture objectives for improvement, optimization, consolidation and/or closures of data center facilities to meet current and future requirements;
Coordinating with multi-disciplined teams for networking, security, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems in support of data center operations and infrastructure management; and
Partnering with customers and stakeholders in defining their computing requirements in order to deliver complex, cross-functional data center services.
