This position is part of the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), Audit, Compliance & Outreach. You must be able to report to one of the advertised duty locations in order to be eligible for this job opportunity. Positions will be filled in one of the following locations: Location salaries: Dallas, TX - $38,428 to $55,890 Houston, TX - $40,793 to $59,329 Lakewood, CO - $39,328 to $57,198 Oklahoma City, OK - $35,373 to $51,446 Tulsa, OK - $35,373 to $51,446

Duties

Examines financial documents and data for completeness and to identify discrepancies. Gathers and assembles factual information for use in audits and reviews. Assists in preparing audit documents and assembling supporting documentation. Duties are carried out in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), public trust, and fiduciary principles.

Eligibility Requirements: In order to be eligible for the Pathways Internship Program, the following qualifications must be met: -Be a U.S. citizen; -Be at least 16 years of age; -Be a student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree or certificate seeking student taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited technical, vocational, 2 or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school. The Certificate Program requirement includes post-secondary education, in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study that is part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum. -Possess and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. -The following are preferred degree categories: Accounting Auditing Business Administration with Auditing Concentration (NOTE: The degree does not have to be related to the position/series to participate in the internship. However, to be eligible for a conversion, candidate must meet the OPM qualification standards for the position to which the Intern MAY be converted.) Conversion to an Auditor, GS-0511 is contingent on meeting the basic education requirement. There are two ways to meet this basic requirement. Completion or expected completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree in: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. OR A combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing courses, which may include up to 6 semester hours of business law, OR a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor. *If you are currently enrolled, but in your last semester/quarter of completing your degree/certificate requirements, you must show proof of continued education such as an acceptance letter or you will be disqualified. In order to be converted to a term or permanent position you will be required to complete 480 hours of employment. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. A combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the specialized experience requirement. Only education from institutions which are accredited or pre-accredited/candidate for accreditation may be used to meet education requirements. At the GS-04, you must meet one of the following qualifications: A. Two (2) full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. OR B. One year of general experience with routine data entry or experience using Microsoft Office or related products to create documents. General experience includes academic settings or workplace settings. OR C. A Combination of education and experience as listed above. At the GS-05, you must meet one of the following qualifications: A. Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. OR B. One year of general experience equivalent to the GS-4 applying simplistic accounting policies and procedures; or experience inputting routine data into an automated system; or experience utilizing electronic spreadsheets to compile, analyze and reconcile accounting data; or experience using Microsoft Office and/or related products to create various documents. OR C. A Combination of education and experience as listed above.
