This position is part of the IBC FMD Accounting Operations Division, located in Lakewood, CO. In order to be eligible to receive consideration for this position, you must be able to report to the duty station location listed in this vacancy announcement if selected and be available to work the schedule listed. The incumbent will be responsible for becoming familiar with how different areas' processes interrelate and can better support mission requirements.
Duties
Review financial documentation related to payment and/or collection activity for completeness and accuracy.
Timely and accurate input of transactional data into a financial system.
Partner with customer agencies to resolve account anomalies.
Reconcile and analyze financial transactions utilizing reports generated from a financial system. Investigate account anomalies and recommend solutions to resolve issues.
Conduct financial reporting functions on behalf of client agencies

Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible for the Pathways Career Internship Program, the following qualifications must be met:
Be a U.S. citizen;
Be at least 16 years of age;
Be a student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree or certificate seeking student taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited technical, vocational, 2 or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school. The Certificate Program requirement includes post-secondary education, in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study that is part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum.
Possess and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or equivalent on a 4.0 scale.
Only education from institutions which are accredited or preaccredited/candidate for accreditation may be used to meet education requirements.
Student must meet eligibility requirements throughout the duration of your appointment under the Pathways Internship Program.
*If you are currently enrolled, but in your last semester/quarter of completing your degree/certificate requirements, you must show proof of continued education such as an acceptance letter or you will be disqualified.
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
A combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
As a STUDENT TRAINEE (FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION) you will serve in a trainee capacity, performing routine and recurring developmental assignments to acquire knowledge and an understanding of functions, principles, practices, and methods used in the area of accounting and financial management operations support to numerous client organizations.
At the GS-04, you must meet the following qualifications:
A. I have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
At the GS-05, you must meet one of the following qualifications:
A. I have a BA/BS degree or four years of education above the high school level. This education was obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college or university. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education).
B. I have one year of general experience equivalent to the GS-4 level applying simplistic accounting regulations, policies, and procedures; or experience inputting routine data into an automated system; or experience utilizing electronic spreadsheets to compile, analyze and reconcile accounting data; or experience using Microsoft Office and/or related products to create various documents.
C. I have a combination of experience and education as defined above which equals 100%. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education).
