About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force, C41 Systems Directorate, Information Systems DIV., U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL.
Duties
Responsible for the life cycle development of C5I projects by defining specifications, managing scope, and ensuring proper infrastructure integration.
Coordinate implementation, integration, and modification of automated systems and support architecture.
Responsible for planning, management and acquisition strategy for communications and computer systems.
Ensures subordinates receive training and experience required to perform the work assigned.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be cleared for, and when granted, maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
- This position may perform frequent travel, up to 15% to CONUS and overseas locations via airplane, train and automobile.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience to the next lower grade (GS/GG-13) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience in information technology and system network (i.e., Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) to detect and monitoring illegal drug activities.
In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
