You will serve as a Fuel Distribution System Worker in the Fuels Department, Operations Division of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will operate various types of work stations to receive fuel by tanker truck, pipeline, or ship at a fuel distribution work station. You will operate tank trucks for delivery of fuel products to customers. You will perform daily, weekly, and monthly operator maintenance of fuel storage, fuel distribution systems, dispensing equipment, and assigned motor vehicle. You will operate vacuum trucks to remove fuel and/or water. You will provide fire, safety, environmental and physical security watch of fuel facilities during off shifts and weekends.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FLO license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CDL CLASS - B ENDORSEMENT - X license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZMAT certification.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including controlling the distribution and storage of various grades of bulk petroleum products by assisting in controlling the operation of a multi-fuel storage and distribution system; Inspecting and testing hoses, lines, tanks, and pumps for leaks and loose fittings and reporting breaks and malfunctions to supervisor; Accurately gauging tanks by manual or automated calibrated measuring devices to determine volume of contents; Ensuring that fuel farm is secure, locking all pumps, doors, windows, gauges, and recovery hatches; and calculating the rate of fuel flow and regulating tank feed control valves to obtain and maintain adequate pump suction, pump motor amperage and proper tank levels. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
