About the Position: Serves as an Operations and Plans Analyst, within the Prevention Force Modernization Proponent (PFMP). The PFMP is a strategic level organization tasked with developing DOTMLPF-P integrated prevention solutions for the Army enterprise.
Duties
As an Operations and Plans Analyst, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Leads working groups, operational planning teams, etc. to discover lessons learned, best practices, and issues related to the Army’s Integrated Prevention System of Prevention efforts within the Operational and Institutional Army.
Plans, writes, and publishes the results of analysis and prevention-related messages in the form of handbooks, newsletters, articles, and other forms of media as appropriate and as directed by supervisor.
Responsible for compiling analysis from various entities to include Army Leaders, DA Civilians, other Services, academia, and other stakeholders to inform feedback system for program evaluation.
Collects and/or reviews prevention related strategies, reports, and supporting documents in order to understand DOTMLPF-P requirements and issues.
Prepares reports, briefings, pamphlets, and other items as necessary to provide implementation, support, decision, and clarifying guidance, amongst others for review by supervisor.
Supports the development of Prevention of Harmful Behaviors lessons learned and best practice capabilities across the operational and institutional Army.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Must successfully complete the SPARX Course within 12 months of hire.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience leading collaborative planning efforts, publishing newsletters, articles and other forms of media related to the prevention of harmful behaviors and prevention programs, analyzing issues to produce recommendations to resolve problems within prevention programs (for example: Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, Equal Opportunity, IPAG or Army Substance Abuse Program), and coordinating governance forums, large virtual meetings, and senior leader engagements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
