About the Position: Serve as the Chief of Staff for US Army Center for Initial Military Training, a two-star Army HQ and TRADOC Core Function Lead for all Army Initial Military Training, Health and Holistic Fitness, and the Army's Prevention Program spanning 22 different CONUS military training locations with an annual training populace of 145,000 Enlisted Soldiers and Officers.
Duties
As a Chief of Staff, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Serves as Chief of Staff for a 2/3 star command with direct control over all staff functions, to include resource management (personnel and dollars), operations, and human resources.
Manages and provides direct control over a multi-disciplined workforce consisting of 20 personnel including 12 directors comprised of senior Civilian and Military leaders plus their subordinate employees.
Serves as the senior civilian and subject matter experts and advisor, providing recommendations to the Commanding General on all related policies, procedures, issues, or concerns.
Provides direct managerial supervision to civilian and military supervisory positions, senior leader staff members, special staff, and contractors in the performance of their duties.
Serves as deputy Army Senior Commander teaming with the Garrison and other outside organizations on issues/initiatives, mission requirements, exercises, quality of life components, and meetings relevant to the future of the command and Installation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), up to 25% of the time.
- This is a Mission Essential Position.
- May be required to complete a one year supervisory probation, if not previously completed.

Specialized Experience Statement: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Routinely synchronizes, advises, coordinates, and briefs US and foreign general officers/senior executives at the 2 star (or equivalent) level or higher and senior elected/appointed DA/DOD/local/state/federal officials in the performance of assigned duties and (2) Has expert experience leading annual preparation, submission, and briefs of organization's Planning, Budgeting, and Execution Process (PPBE) with unit budgets over $150 million and with current and relevant experience validating resourcing requirements across the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and (3) Supervisor of organizations/directorates/sections of greater than 16 personnel including at least 3 subordinate first line supervisors (4) Has recent and relevant experience developing, managing, and executing policy and personnel oversight of harmful behavior programs (i.e. SHARP, EO/EEO, Suicide Prev, ASAP/DDR, etc) at the operational (Garrison/installation) or strategic (2 star or higher) HQs level (5) recent and relevant experience with management of installation/garrison operations/support experience (i.e. facilities improvement / master planning, public affairs, environmental, military housing/barracks, partnerships, etc).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
