About the Position: This position is located with the Environment Laboratory, Environmental Risk Assessment Branch. The incumbent will perform complex tasks of broad scope, exhibiting the ability to interpret, select, adapt, and apply many guidelines, precedents, and engineering principles and practice. This position may be filled at the Developmental DB-2/4 (GS-5/11 Target GS-12/14) OR Full Performance DB-4 (GS-12/14)

Duties

Serve as Team Lead for the Risk and Decision Science Team. Perform intricate tasks of broad scope, exhibiting the ability to interpret, select, adapt, and apply many guidelines, precedents, and engineering principles and practice. Prepare technical memos, reports and electronic deliverables. Manage project execution and budgets. Write publications, including peer reviewed journal articles and technical bulletins/reports. Present scientific results at national symposia. Analyze and interpret data to answer basic and applied issues of relevance to USACE, Army, other Armed Services, and other public and private customers. Collaborate with scientists on projects pertaining to the US Army Corps of Engineers civil works mission within and outside ERDC.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, engineering, physical science, or mathematics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
