Serve as Section Chief for Operations Technical Project staff executing natural resources, recreation and environmental missions. This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled under any of the following titles and occupational series, depending on the qualifications of the applicant: General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences 0401; Forestry 0460; General Engineering 0801; Civil Engineering 0810; Environmental Engineering 0819; Mechanical Engineering 0830
Duties
Serves as Unit Chief and is responsible for providing technical coordination and support for Operations Project Managers executing natural resources, recreation and environmental stewardship and compliance programs.
Plans, directs, monitors, executes and supervises the staff on pertinent technical provisions of complex programs, essential to the mission of the Corps at major project sites, to include District hydropower producing plants.
Establishes program and performance goals, priorities, and major work schedules.
Determines long-range manpower requirements.
Supervises professional, technical, and administrative employees in District.
Determines, plans and provides for both long-range and short-term training, including developmental training necessary for future workload.
Participates, as the technical representative, in program inspections and reviews of all field installations in conjunction with district, MVD and HQ-USACE representatives.
