You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS (WFO) DEPARTMENT (C300), PLANNING DIVISION (310) of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.
Duties
You will administer the advance planning phases of major maintenance, modernization, overhaul, and repair availabilities on surface ships on behalf of the assigned ship’s maintenance team.
You will coordinate with multiple Maintenance Team Execution Project Managers and Port Engineers in the early stages of advanced planning to establish Ship availabilities, schedules, milestones, and work package development.
You will oversee the preparation, completeness, accuracy, and distribution of specification packages in accordance with predetermined milestone dates.
You will provide input for funding requirements and coordinates with the maintenance team’s funds administrator for funds from multiple funding sources.
You will be responsible for commitment of command resources of substantive and technical nature, within the bounds of the mission and its
administrative policies.
You will conduct post availability analysis of contract changes to identify original specification deficiencies, lessons learned or training requirements.
You will collect relevant data and prepare briefing material to communicate the status of availability advance planning to various agencies and commands

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position also requires computer training and operation of Navy unique programs/systems.
Qualifications
To qualify for a GS-13, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience demonstrating knowledge of ship repair and overhaul techniques, to effectively and professionally manage the planning of major maintenance and modernization availabilities.
Experience displaying a thorough knowledge of advance planning and repair execution concepts.
Experience identifying and solving problems associated with work item integration.
Experience applying ship repair/shipbuilding procedures, overhaul, production processes, quality control and management methods.
Experience implementing ship repairs including production procedures, scheduling, and estimating of labor and material costs..
