You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Joint Fires Division (J32), Operations Directorate (J3) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties
You will perform functional and operational analyses of networked computer systems to maintain IJFC Command & Control Nodes, Communications, and Computers (C4).
You will develop, deliver and support IT systems and services.
You will plan and coordinate installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of networked hardware and software systems that include: new hardware, operating systems, databases, applications software.
You will draft, coordinate and define standard operating procedures.
You will ensure the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
You will lead a team of seven Contractor Technicians to maximize timely support, improve efficiencies, and develop team member potential.
You will review and ensure work products meet program objectives and policy compliance.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating an expert knowledge of IT policies, processes and procedures along with demonstrated experience in Joint network planning, execution, and assessment. You must also be familiar with military command structure, military staff organization, and operations at a Combatant Command or equivalent strategic-level organization. You must have expert communication skills both orally and in writing with multiple organizations both within and outside the headquarters that includes: other staff directorates, other Combatant Commands, functional and sub-unified commands, service components, DoD, and interagency organizations. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Performing functional and operational analyses of networked computer systems to maintain INDOPACOM Joint Fires Center (IJFC) command and control nodes, communications, and computers; 2) Developing, delivering, and supporting IT systems and services; planning and coordinating installation, testing, operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of networked hardware and software systems; 3) Drafting, coordinating, and refining standard operation procedures and ensuring the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services; 4) Monitoring IJFC C4 capacity and performance; 5) Diagnosing and resolving network problems; developing C4 backup and recovery procedures; and managing high-use databases; and 6) Applying mature judgment and leadership experience within a military service while applying guidelines and developing new standards daily to support the mission.
