This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMM), Business Services Group (BSG), Division of Systems Support, Operation & Security).
As a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC), GS-2210-15, you will serve as the DSSOS Director, providing leadership and executive direction for implementing DSSOS programs.
Duties
Advises the Center Director and Group Directors on IT operations and security strategies to support short- and long-term plans for improving CMS and CMMI Programs.
Directs the work of IT specialists, certified security and privacy professionals, testers, payment and banking specialists, and helpdesk and data oversight.
Directs and develops long range plans to ensure that the Center has the IT operations and security and privacy solutions necessary to enable program success.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff from the Office of Technology Solutions (OTS), Chief Information Officer (CIO), and the Chief information Security Officer (CISO).
Develops budget narratives, cost estimates and other planning documents for implementation of initiatives that support the mission of the Division and BSG.

BASIC REQUIREMENT
You must have IT-related experience, at the GS-14 grade level in the federal government, demonstrating each of the four competencies listed:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Guide policy teams on implementation of payment policy changes in healthcare insurance claims processing systems; AND
Direct multi-disciplinary teams that manage IT system operations & maintenance, software testing, and a help desk; AND
Direct teams that manage an IT security and privacy program
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
