About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Maintenance Division, at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Duties

Integrate, coordinate, and execute critical actions among units as well as other commands in regard to unit readiness in support of Army Prepositioned Stock (APS) and Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) production and performance. Assist in the integration and synchronization of maintenance programs performed by installations LRCs and APS facilities. Monitor and track performance and readiness of APS and tactical units. Monitor support of field and sustainment level maintenance; and wholesale to retail materiel management integration missions. Provide assistance concerning logistical operations through analysis and evaluation of logistics performance to detect developing trends and substandard performance. Develop reports, Common Operating Pictures (COPs), and briefings to keep the Brigade informed of mission requirements and analysis results. Study and analyze logistics processes, policy, and procedural issues. Provide assistance on integrated materiel management.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating maintenance and materiel management actions; 2) Planning and/or evaluating logistical actions related to organizational readiness; 3) Assisting in managing a maintenance related equipment program; and 4) Providing guidance to personnel concerning logistical operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or another related field. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementManaging Human ResourcesPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
