Duties
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG).

Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e., Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened.

DUTIES:
As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (D0881P01),GS-0346-12, you will provide logistics guidance and support to units, organizations and activities through the management of logistics activities. Responsible to provide supervision for Plans and Policy, Food Service, Defense Movement, Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO), Command Property Management, Aerial Delivery Logistics Facilities (ADLF) and Supply and Services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary and usually accomplished while the employee is comfortably seated. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with attendance at meetings and conferences. Items carried typically are light such as briefcases, notebooks and reports. Lifting of moderately heavy objects is not normally required. No special physical effort is required to perform the work.
WORKING ENVORONMENT:
The work is primarily performed in an office setting involving risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The employee uses safe work practices with office equipment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-11 or the equivalent THIRTY-SIX (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as directing the development of the logistics support plan and guidance for units, organizations and activities; evaluating logistics data and requirements from JFHQ staff, units, USPFO, NGB and other organizations; directing the establishment of the logistics operations cell to support the JFHQ Emergency Operations Center for federal and state missions; advising the DOL DCSLOG/G4 on logistics support issues to accomplish mission requirements; evaluating the logistics force modernization program to assure that materiel fielding is accomplished within established milestones; developing and coordinating tactical logistics support requirements for the state; serving as the primary advisor to the DCSLOG/G4 on logistics automation matters; coordinating facility design and maintenance concerns of the DOL DCSLOG/G4 with DEH; performing a full range of supervisory functions; implementing accepted provisions of personnel management; selecting or contributes to the selection of subordinates; hearing employee grievances and deals with union representatives; establishing performance standards, authorizes leave and is responsible for time and attendance; ensuring adequate training; ensuring accuracy of position descriptions; ensuring a safe working environment.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for 3 months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
