About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Maintenance Division, at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.
Duties
Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist responsible for the oversight and reporting of maintenance activities for assigned components, subsystems, or complete vehicle system(s).
Monitor contractor logistics support with emphasis in maintenance and supply for installation maintenance programs.
Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) providing contract administration and oversight for the maintenance functions of the installation's Maintenance contract.
Prepare, edit, review, and coordinate the application, submission, and issuance of contractual work.
Plan, coordinate, and document new or projected requirements, projections of installation support service needs, mobilization/deployment planning, and for expansion of work areas and facilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Buchanan Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating logistical actions; 2) Monitoring contractor performance for contracted operations; and 3) Reviewing and/or analyzing maintenance activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or another related field.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
