You will serve as a in the Diminished Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Lead in the NAVSEA Submarine Branch of the Obsolescence Management Division of the Undersea Systems Sustainment Engineering Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

Duties

You will plan, schedule, coordinate and conduct technical work as part of major programs and projects of considerable scope and complexity. You will verify and validate platform/system specific Diminishing Manufacture and Material Supply (DMSMS) and obsolescence issues, collect/review configuration, supply and technical data, manuals, specifications and drawings. You will initiate DMSMS and obsolescence cases for validated issues including documenting sourcing issues, conducting initial research, determining case scope/boundary, system/assembly impacts and case urgency. You will manage program, platform, and system caseloads including case initiation, case mitigation, resolution and closure in support of DMSMS programs. You will identify, report and coordinate cross-organizational obsolescence impacts to platform/system to program technical stakeholders and program sponsors. You will provide DMSMS Systems Analysis including DMSMS Obsolescence Forecasts, Health, Impact and Supportability Assessments.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating obsolescence cases or supportability engineering cases for Diminishing Manufacture and Material Supply (DMSMS) weapons platforms or systems.
