About the Position: This position performs the full range of law enforcement duties involved with a variety of crimes and offenses.
Recruitment relocation and/or retention incentives are NOT being offered for this position.

Duties
Direct, coordinate and oversee desk operations and provide guidance and direction to military/civilian police personnel.
Brief shift personnel on pertinent shift information.
Inform employees of changes in policy and operating procedures.
Conduct training sessions for new employees and determine the need for more formalized training.
Receive requests for information and assistance and calls involving emergencies, complaints, violations, crimes in progress.
Dispatch police officers to investigate incidents and assist in emergencies.
Maintain records and prepare journals/blotters/reports.
Responsible for the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the Intrusion Detection Alarm System.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical and Mental Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the required level of physical and mental health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Position is subject to the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
- Incumbent must pass, within 90 days of being hired and annually thereafter, a physical agility test IAW AR 190-56, Chapter 2.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain current certifications in CPR techniques and First Aid in order to provide emergency assistance to the sick or injured.
- This position requires the incumbent to carry a firearm. The incumbent must be proficient in the use of and qualify semi-annually with assigned duty firearms/weapons.
- This position is covered by the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) and has been designated by the Department of Army as critical to the national or internal security. An assessment of suitability and character is required annually.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform. A high state of uniform appearance and personal hygiene must be maintained at all times.
- This position requires completion of Law Enforcement training. Personnel must have successfully completed or be willing to attend and complete the Department of Army Civilian Police Academy and Field Training Officer (FTO) Program.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to a criminal history background check.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience required: One FULL year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing word processing and web-based law enforcement computer programs to establish, update, query or print detailed reports, forms, and citations; conducting law enforcement duties including exercising search and apprehension authority, collecting and preserving evidence, and enforcing traffic laws. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
