About the Position: This position is located within the G3 (Operations)/G-33 Current Operations Division at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Perform unit and material readiness analyses of the Army's aviation/missile weapon systems on a worldwide basis; prepare a monthly analysis.
Perform detailed readiness analyses of aviation and missile weapon systems not meeting Department of Army established Mission Capable goals.
Identify problems causing an aviation or land combat or air defense missile weapon system to be Not Mission Capable and provide recommended solutions.
Maintain "birth to grave" cognizance of readiness plans, programs and schedules for all aviation and missile systems.
Serve as a member and/or point of contact for AMCOM Readiness Field Visit Program; visit units with AMCOM fielded aviation and missile systems on a schedule or as needed basis.
Provide daily feedback to the aviation and missile enterprises through updates of applicable readiness database applications and other written/oral communication.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- May be required to travel away from the duty station up to 10% of the time.
- May be required to complete a one-year probationary period, if not already completed.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) analyzing logistics problems in aviation and missile systems operational readiness and evaluation studies; 2) identifying problems causing aviation or land combat or air defense missile weapon systems to be not capable and recommending solutions or taking corrective action; 3) performing detailed readiness analyses of aviation and missile weapon systems not meeting established goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11) or equivalent pay band.
