The primary purpose of the position is to provide recurring maintenance and repair work on roads, trails, and signs, and assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers with recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties.

This position is designated Emergency Essential.
Duties
The major duties of the Maintenace Worker (MVO) position include but are not limited to the following:
Provides recurring maintenance and repair work on roads, trails, and signs.
Assists journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers with recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties.
Works as a team member on crews that perform pavement sealing, asphalt and concrete potholing, using hot patch, cold patch, and concrete mixtures, milling and paving.
Creates and installs signage along roadways and trails.
Operates and performs operator maintenance on cars, trucks, and/or vans and stake trucks to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on project work.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Do the Work of a Maintenance Worker (MVO) Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications and or Blueprints
Ability to Use, Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.
Knowledge of Materials
Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments

There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
