Duty Location: Lakewood, Colorado
Duties
-Coordinates the development, modification, and verification of the Directorate's data and information applications, policies, and techniques, to ensure processes are efficient, effective and consistent with current accepted industry standards and state of the art practices.
-Provides updates on developments with specific IT solutions and how the Directorate, Bureau, and Department of the Interior benefit from additional analysis, collection, or dissemination of data and information. Provides recommendations on teams, activities, and solutions to create efficiencies.
-Coordinates with technical experts concerning IT opportunities, policies, and solutions through analyzing and evaluating business requirements, and providing advice and guidance to management and staff in the procurement, implementation, sunsetting, and all other lifecycle states of databases and IT systems.
-Works closely with management, program, managers, and staff to gather programmatic data and information needs, requirements, analyze previous IT efforts and conduct broad research. Works with Directorate, Bureau and Department of the Interior to ensure consistent, logical, professional, and informed systems and products are development and maintained.
Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-13, you must possess one year of Specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-12 level in federal service having demonstrated experience using Federal financial systems, management systems, and corporate data warehouses to establish procedures, customize reports, and analyze data to administer a program and improve the overall organizational or system effectiveness. Experience applying Federal, Departmental, and/or agency regulations, standards, directives, and operating guidelines to define and solve complex problems and make recommendations related to four key strategic areas (workload, workforce, product delivery, and finances).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 12/23/2024.
