About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Chief of Staff for the United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy (USADAS) under the general supervision of the Academy Commandant, maintaining oversight of the day-to-day business of the Academy in accordance with established guidance and the Academy's mission. NOTE: This position is eligible for situational only in accordance with agency policies and at management's discretion.

Duties

This list is not all-inclusive: Develop academic policy and procedures, supervises program, planning, and the overall academic operations of the academy. Serve as a representative for the Commandant and Deputy Commandant during meetings with installation representatives and within the organization. Analyze and interpret directives/orders/guidance/etc. from higher authorities to apply the information to accomplish the mission. Assist in establishing overall administrative, management, and organizational framework for organizational programs. Assure accomplishment of mission and functions within budgetary and manpower limitations imposed by higher headquarters. Serve as first-level supervisor for civilian and military personnel. Oversee curriculum development and integration between courses offered, using knowledge of the curriculum. Oversee the program to include student performance, student feedback, successfulness of mission in relation to the projected plans, goals, and expectations.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Please see the specific instructions regarding supporting documentation for Time in Grade requirements in the REQUIRED DOCUMENTS section, below. NOTE: Applicants must meet all Time-in-Grade requirements and experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
