About the Position: This position is located at Pinckney Elementary School in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Fort Jackson is centrally located in Columbia, South Carolina. Major attractions in the area include the South Carolina State Museum which offers exhibits on the state's historical past. Families will enjoy the Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Garden which offer beautiful butterfly gardens and a family-friendly zoo experience.

Duties

Administer student and/or staff reports for school administration through an automated system. Serve as official records manager for the school. Present specific briefings to management officials and/or staff to support understanding. Maintain forms, processes, and/or other appropriate documentation. Draft interpretation of budgetary guidance for staff. Perform a variety of analytical studies and/or projects related to productivity improvement. Monitor budget actions to comply with standard operating procedures. Develop long and/or short term administrative programs to manage manpower requirements.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One year trial or probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • One year supervisory probation period may be required.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.

OR Education: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as business administration or public administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Or Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementFinancial ManagementHuman Resources ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingResearch Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
