This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), Planning and Operations Division (POD), Planning, Management and Budget Unit (PMBU).
Duties
Leads the development of the organization's budget formulation documents, including program summaries, agency achievements, and key program priorities.
Assesses, monitors, and oversees the allocation of programmatic and management & administration (M&A) funds.
Develops, prepares, analyzes, and verifies both short-term and long-term budget estimates to support the organization's programmatic objectives and goals.
Plans and coordinates the presentation of both annual and long-term budgets for the organization's administered programs.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts studies in response to major management changes, challenges, or issues.
Recommends solutions to address challenges, including the development of new or updated internal policies and procedures.
Contributes to the preparation and delivery of briefings on the organization's operations and programs.
Collaborates with organization program managers to assess complex organizational operations and activities, offering suggestions for enhancements.
Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance.
Collaborates with Human Resources Division to develop Job Descriptions and recruitment strategies, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Makes informed hiring decisions that aims to build a strong team that contributes to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Managing and overseeing an organization's budget processes, organizational analysis, and a broad range of programmatic areas, including budget formulation and execution, administrative controls, organizational analysis, and the strategic development of long-term program plans.
Formulating, executing, and overseeing complex development and implementation of a comprehensive organizational analysis program aimed at enhancing the performance and efficiency of an organization's operations.
Recommending changes to senior leadership on program performance, allocation resources, and ensuring compliance with policy guidelines.
