About the Position: The primary purpose of this position to serve as the Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator and real property utilization engineering database with responsibility for designing, creating, implementing and maintaining a computer-based archive of digitized diagrams, drawings and site-specific information for Facility Management Division for hardware, buildings and contracts.
Duties
Engineers, designs and maintains computer generated drawings documenting facility construction and modifications. Generates engineering prints of the support infrastructure to include all building components.
Manages all engineering drawings and engineer/facility specific databases. Must be able to read and decipher all types of outside plant drawings containing technical specifications. Responsible to maintain and update.
Determines the optimal location of structures and utilities. Annotates this information on blueprints and/or initiates work order request for construction of equipment room, power poles, etc.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license to perform the duties of this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using computer aided drafting programs to review drawings, models or tables for construction projects; interpreting engineering plans and specifications; and keeping records and preparing reports on engineering work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). A CAD certification document that demonstrates proficiency.
