Duties
If selected for this position, you will be responsible for for planning, implementing, and administering the full spectrum of budget and financial management services. Typical work assignments will include, but are not limited to:
Gathering and consolidating narrative information and statistical data needed for budget operations and financial reporting
Researching legal, regulatory, program, and budgetary information
Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures for the office
Verifying that obligations and expenditures occur on a timely-basis in accordance with regulatory controls
Providing information based on the products of the financial management system
Analyzing expenditure data to identify variables affecting costs
Preparing annual administrative budgets and operating plans
Providing a wide variety of budgetary reports
Producing a variety of written documents and materials using a wide range of office software applications
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

Qualifications
GS-12
To be eligible at the GS-12 level you must meet the following conditions below.
Specialized Experience
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as developing and maintaining a comprehensive financial management program, identifying, analyzing and resolving budgetary problems, analyzing expenditures and preparing recommendations, and briefing senior level management on budget related issues. Determining obligations and expenditures are within funding limits in approved budgets. Drafting budgetary procedures, instructions, and internal policy guidance for use by office staff in executing the budget within budget guidelines. Reviewing, analyzing, editing budgets; preparing analysis of budget impacts; Providing technical advice, consultation and assistance to management on a range of budget program issues.
