About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, the home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.
Duties
Serve as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the division.
Provide assistance on range safety related matters.
Maintain the IT Inventory Accountability (ITIA) Database to ensure accountability of all network hardware and software.
Serve as Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) Functional Administrator (FA).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to travel occasionally.
- Incumbent must be able to walk over varied terrain for distances of up to five miles.
- Incumbent must be able to operate in given outdoor temperature without adverse effects.
- Incumbent must be able to fly as a passenger in Rotary Wing aircraft to live fire gunnery ranges and training areas.
- Incumbent is occasionally required to enter and perform duties in the impact areas where there exists the potential for unexploded ammunition to be present.
- This position has a pre-employment physical requirement due to the lifting of up to 55 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Work force Improvement Program.
- Must obtain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification within six months of being assigned. Failure to satisfactorily obtain and/or maintain updated certifications IAW publication listed are grounds for termination.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as the principal source of professional and technical information for all IT matters pertaining to communications, hardware, software, security, networks, systems integration, and systems operations for the division. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: I have successfully completed a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
