About the Position: Serves as IT Specialist (INFOSEC) performing duties in support of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and its geographic area of responsibility. This position is located with the Lyster Army Medical Center, Fort Novosel, AL.

Duties
Provide technical guidance on Data Center operations of all hardware, software, and infrastructure components.
Evaluate and produce security procedures for new data storage requirements.
Provides advice and guidance in implementing Information Technology (IT) security policies and procedures.
Plan and prepare risk assessments, facility security profiles, accreditation, and reaccreditation for Data Center Infrastructure.
Perform required analysis to determine the type of data being stored so that proper procedures are put in place to protect data according to established guideline and policies.
Requirements
- Personnel Security Program and designated as IAT Level II and IAM Level I IAW DoD 8570.01M with full access to DLIFLC Unclassified network.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.
- Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on an infrequent basis up to 10% of the time.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Tier 3 Position (Secret): Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes overseeing an automation security program; reviewing initial and annual Information Assurance security training ensuring automated information systems are following regulatory guidelines; and assessing system vulnerabilities.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
