About the Position: This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Provide authoritative information and guidance to senior leadership on personnel security policies and related issues.
Manage all personnel security areas including program access requests, clearances, polygraphs, courier authorizations, badges, passports, and identification cards.
Coordinate with Army higher headquarters security offices, DoD Field Investigation Agencies, and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)security investigative offices.
Physical Security Officer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing a physical security and crime prevention program.
Conduct communications security access briefings, debriefings, and training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment physical and annual physical required while in position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) security clearance as a result of a current and favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
- Must possess current valid civilian driver's license.
- Pre-employment drug test required and random drug testing thereafter; must sign DA Form 5019-R.
- This is an Inclement Weather position, and you may be required to report for or remain on duty during inclement weather.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two (2) years of employment.
- May require a 1-year supervisory probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes develop, implement, and/or manage Special Access Programs and/or security policy and programs; implement security policy and procedure changes to personnel, information, and/or physical security; assist with conducting research to assist in the development of new policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
