As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Assistant Manager for the Office of Airports (ARP), Central Region (CE-600), in the Safety & Standards Branch (CE-620).

Duties

Provides principal technical advice and guidance to the Airports Division Director, and Deputy Director, in the administration of airport engineering/standards, airport certification, and other safety programs. Oversees and makes recommendations regarding assigned programs to the Division Director and Deputy Division Director. Leads, supervises and directs a diverse group of administrative and technical professionals that support the safety and standards programs for airports in the National Airspace System (NAS).

Qualifications

Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level (FV-I or FG/GS-13) that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes:Direct technical or management-level experience applying processes related to airport management, airport compliance with federal obligations and airport safety and certification programs.Experience in leadership and providing direction to others and/or establishing common goals.Experience in collaborative analysis of technical information for projects crossing multiple technical and operational disciplines or organizational lines of business.Experience applying technical guidance in airport layout and design.QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
