As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Branch Manager for the Office of Airports (ARP) in the Central Region.

Duties

The Branch manager is responsible for a branch that includes four small and three medium hub airports. This responsibility includes 306 Federally funded airports throughout Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri including more than 35 Part 139 certified airports.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.

Qualifications

Candidates must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level (FV-J, FG/GS-14) that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience for this position includes:Experience in leadership and providing direction to others and/or establishing common goals.Experience promoting teamwork.Experience in promoting airport safety.Experience in collaboration analysis of technical information for projects crossing multiple technical and operational disciplines or organizational lines of business.Experience applying technical guidance in airport layout and design.Experience in promoting employee development (e.g. on-the-job training; coaching and teamwork).Experience in the identification and analysis of significant issues or trends in airport planning and development.Experience with the Airport Improvement Program.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Special Note concerning Managerial Dimensions:As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA)/Leadership and Management Dimensions narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
