About the Position: Position serves implementing, identifying problems, issues, and recommending changes t the senior action officer. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (RAGD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Verify documented data to ensure all eligible Soldiers and Veterans receives the entitled educational benefits or incentives and make corrections to the database
Verify accuracy of information being cited and quoted in replies, regulations and directives.
Review information concerning service members separated under varying conditions and complex eligibility requirements.
Research, interpretations, and applies broad Department of Defense Directives and basic administrative policy statements in the implementation of administrative/operational procedures/policy.
Compose and prepares a variety of correspondence from verbal or written instructions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has already been met.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Travel up to 10% occasional away from the normal duty station may be required.
- Position requires access to classified information. Position will be required to complete a Form SF 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).

Specialized Experience: One-year of specialized experience which includes: Managing soldiers' entitlements and benefits programs. 2) Researching, interpreting, and applying Department of Defense Directives and basic administrative policy in the implementation of administrative/operational procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
