Duties

As a Supervisory Public Health Analyst you will: Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Office's Policy unit within the Office of the Director, ensuring the establishment of and oversight for the programs, policies, goals, objectives, initiatives, processes, and procedures. Research, interpret, analyze, and apply guidelines, policies, and regulations, etc. to ensure missions and functions are effective and efficient. Oversee public health policy evaluation. Oversee and provide leadership for the development, implementation, and management of communication and marketing efforts and issues management strategies. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules. Cultivate and maintain relationships with other organizational units within CDC including other national centers, and offices within the CDC Office of the Director including CDC Washington, Office of Financial Resources/Leg, and others; other Federal agencies and quasi-governmental groups such as the CDC Foundation; and other key partners including national and international organizations, as well as others in the public sector.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: making recommendations that address multi-functional issues (i.e., issue identification, issue monitoring, issue analysis, message formation and incorporation); and leading efforts related to public health related policy issues, issues management, partnership, external relations, and marketing and/or communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
