Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11, is to serve as Chief, Special Security Office. Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security.
Qualifications
General Experience: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; Ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level experience initiating and implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources; Experience serving as the SCI Control Officer responsible for establishing, managing, and controlling all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the Unit's mission; Experience assessing and revising policies and procedures to improve their quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
