Duties
Prepares calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated.
Assists and advises users in the application of, and calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
Implements, adapts, modifies and occasionally develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements.
Identifies and documents errors in existing procedures and provides information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification.
Serves, as the workload dictates, as a specialist in physical/dimensional and ionizing radiation calibration. Performs other duties as assign.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- This position has moderate/heavy lifting requirement. This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision.I have the ability to perform common Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator duties including calibrating electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional measurements. I can determine appropriate measurement tolerances based on equipment specifications. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds..
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
