Duties

Develop manpower material and overhead cost estimates. Orders replacement parts for installation. Prepare invoices and warranties for equipment and installation. Interpret circuit wiring, logic cable diagrams, drawing, specifications and schematics sufficient to analyze and diagnose faults in electronic systems. Inspect and repair Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to provide repair support. Consult with customers to determine security requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A secret clearance is required.
  • This position has been designated as "Key".
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a government vehicle operator permit within 6 months of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing research to determine equipment layout, installation, and operation; 2) Determining the best courses of action for problem resolution. 3) Inspecting test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) to provide repair support. 4) Analyzing test equipment malfunctions, isolating defects, repairing and/or replacing components. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Electrical EngineeringElectronicsProblem SolvingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
