About the Position: This position is located within the Womack Medical Center at Fort Liberty, NC. Incumbent will serve as Lead Electronics Technician (Biomedical) within the medical treatment facility (MTF) responsible for the evaluation, installation, maintenance, diagnoses, repair, calibration and testing of medical electronic equipment and systems.
Duties
Utilize methods and techniques to evaluate, install, maintain, diagnose, repair and calibrate medical equipment.
Lead and mentor a team to assure employee productivity.
Ensure maintenance of medical equipment and systems is based on official guidance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check is required for this position.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an on-call basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position may require incumbent to callback duties to perform emergency repairs, as required.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating installing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and testing specialized medical electronic equipment and systems; using solid state, digital and integrated circuits to isolate and resolve complex relationships of medical equipment and systems; providing evaluation, consultation and technical instructions to members of a medical team; and advising on and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule for service and repair of highly complex medical equipment.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
