This position, located at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, serves to provide support for the Veterans Transportation Program (VTP), responsible for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veterans Transportation Program.

Duties

Major duties of this position include but are not limited to... Collects, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of VTS and Beneficiary Travel Review documents, reports and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures data entry is complete and accurate Maintains automated systems of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, program trends, performance measures, compliance strategies, etc. Provides transportation at Government expense to Veterans and their attendants traveling to and from VA facilities and other places for examination, treatment and care Promotes the enhancement and facilitation of access to transportation services, including the integration and coordination of services Assists in cultivating partnerships and multi-agency coordinated transportation activities Prepares presentations to and attend meetings of a variety of groups, cities, counties, organizations, boards and committees with passenger transportation links to promote coordination amongst agencies Supports the facility's Fleet Manager through direct management, maintenance and recordkeeping of vehicles operated by VTS in accordance with the Fleet Manager's Guide, state and federal law and local policies Provides daily supervision, guidance, overall planning, direction and support for the VTP subordinate staff Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly articulated and measurable through the formal employee performance management system Works with Mobility Manager to survey and evaluate transportation program operations to access compliance with applicable regulations, policies, procedures and sound management practices for VTP operations, drivers and vehicle compliance Assure administrative support and clerical assistance to employees regarding leave, training and personal issues Establishes priorities, schedules deadlines for routing and special work assignments and monitors the quality of worked performed Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/23/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-08 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
