The ideal candidate will possess an industry relevant certification such as, MS Cybersecurity Architect, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP, etc., have experience leading the design, implementation, and optimization of security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices for information systems as well as several years leading the creation and/or review of system architectures of varying infrastructure (legacy on-premise physical systems, cloud IaaS and PaaS & hybrid systems).

Duties

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as the IT Specialist (ENTARCH) within FEMA's Office of Response & Recovery, Recovery Directorate, Technology Programs Division, Product Support Branch. This position serves within the Cybersecurity & Information Assurance Section and works closely with enterprise architects, system owners, common control providers, and system security officers to ensure the design and allocation of security controls of assigned systems comply with Federal security policies, standards, laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this IT Specialist (ENTARCH) position at the IC-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Leading the development of secure system or network infrastructures, integrating advanced security controls and/or risk management processes to protect sensitive organizational data & ensure compliance with federal or industry standards; Designing and/or implementing security architectures for corporate or federal information systems, ensuring compliance with NIST standards, FISMA requirements, or industry standards (i.e. ISO 27001) and/or regulatory compliance (i.e. - GDPR, HIPPA, or PCI-DSS); and Leading the development and/or implementation of security programs (e.g., vulnerability remediation programs, incident management programs, and security policy and development compliance programs). Individual Occupational Requirement: In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered qualified for the position: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
