This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing all functions of the division and making independent judgments and decisions for improving operations and making recommendations for improved utilization of
division resources.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT OFFICER at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Manages the processes of information capture (ensuring the Joint Staff delivers the information required by the Top 4, adhering to established standards), access (ensuring the necessary personnel can access the information), and dissemination (ensuring the information is properly packaged for the Top 4 and others who require it);
Provides oversight of the methods used to capture and share the Chairman's read-ahead materials and ensures preservation of historical documentation relating to the read-ahead products submitted to JS leadership;
Identifies and defines management strategies and milestones related the integration and sustainment of Joint Staff Read Ahead and Enterprise Collaboration Support services which includes developing policies, programs, and projects;
Responsible for oversight and management of direct, JS customer support for assigned collaborative and messaging tools;
Oversees community outreach and cooperation through the development and implementation of communications and engagement strategies for coordination with Directorate and Joint Staff working groups and boards.

- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- The position will be required to work overtime, perform shift work, including occasional weekends (both scheduled and on-call response for required / emergency operations).
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% within and outside the continental United States. Requires travel by various modes of military and/or commercial transportation.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Directing a division, a team of professionals, specialists and demonstrating technical Joint Staff knowledge management program integral to Joint Staff processes;
Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development of plans, projects, and policies;
Understanding strategic planning, technical analysis, and implementation activities associated with Joint Staff and Department of Defense (DoD) level capabilities;
Ensuring Joint Staff's know-how, information, and experience are shared inside and (as appropriate) outside the organization, including Joint Force, high-level government committees, national and international forums and professional associations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
