Duties

As an Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist - Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Direct Hire), you will: In consultation with the CISO and senior agency officials, oversee the information security program including enterprise security operations center/computer incident response team, security architecture and innovation, Governance, Risk, and Compliance, and Strategic Security Initiatives. Develop and maintains the Department's cyber security architecture to ensure Departmental information and information systems are protected in accordance with the risk and magnitude of harm that would occur from the loss or compromise of the Department's information assets. Advise on the Departmental cyber security performance oversight assurance including independent testing, verification and validation of cyber security controls as required. Provide Oversight of Departmental cyber security contracts and high-level enterprise-wide procurements impacting the security of the HUD enterprise such as enterprise license agreements and security lines of business procurements. Provide Chief Information Security Officer and senior agency officials with current and timely cyber security threat and vulnerability information to enable the agency to prepare for, detect and respond to cyber-attacks.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Identifying vulnerabilities, providing recommendations for remediation, and planning the implementation of those solutions; AND - Implementing, leading, and overseeing a cybersecurity risk management strategy for an organization; AND - Experience carrying out efforts regarding staffing and training to develop employees; AND - Providing risk oversight of existing applications, services or processes; AND - Providing system security guidance and solutions to business units relating to current and emerging cyber threats. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
