Duties

Responsible for planning, programming, budgeting and executing sustainment decisions for all DLA managed fuels infrastructure at worldwide Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) sites across the Department of Defense. Plans, directs and has oversight for the implementation and/or application of evolving and innovative business strategies and practices for the accomplishment of maintenance, repair and minor construction projects. Directs and supervises complex facility sustainment operations which involve all fuels infrastructure sustainment operations at DLA Energy DFSPs (CONUS/OCONUS). Directs all activities associated with the Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) Program. Responsible for fuel system operational readiness at capitalized facilities, which account for approximately 75% of the Department of Defense's fixed fuel infrastructure. Represents the Command and Agency at executive levels in communicating with customers, industry, military service logistics headquarters, international organizations, and other agencies which may affect the Directorate or Command.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Operations Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Modify or develop new administrative program policies, regulations, goals, or objectives to support agency mission. Review and initiate administrative audits and investigative reports to determine if appropriate changes or corrective actions are required to ensure compliance and efficiency of agency projects and programs. Advise senior leadership on internal control issues, process improvement, risk identification and validation of corrective actions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
