This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Privacy Officer (PRIV).
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as PRIV's Senior Correspondence Analyst/Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec) to perform research and finalize written materials, including executive correspondence prepared by the Privacy Office.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Senior Correspondence Analyst, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Advise leadership on policies and current development for internal and external customers.
Analyze problems and other issues to determine the appropriate course of actions associated with overall mission.
Manage and supervise the participation and collaboration efforts derived from the PRIV Senior Leadership and Senior Directors.
Serve as advisor for disseminating and prioritizing proposed alternative language to ensure the inconsistencies do not compromise the Department's mission or the Privacy Office's strategic goals and processes.
Conduct detailed analyses of information request while preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of responses based upon the information requirements.
Disseminate information from other sources that are contradictory, ensuring submission are fully coordinated and approved by assigned leadership.
Management a wide range of administrative and operational functions that impact department mission and objectives for PRIV Executive Secretariat.
Analyze problems and other issues to determine the appropriate course of actions associated with the overall functionality and mission.

Requirements

Qualifications
GS-14: To qualify, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. For this position, specialized experience is defined as evaluating and enhancing effectiveness of the Directorate, its programs and otherwise accomplishing a variety of critical assignments on behalf of the Privacy Office Leadership and at the directive of the Chief of Staff. Such experience may include:
Perform research and finalize written materials, including executive correspondence, prepared by directorate and other Departments, components, and organizations;
Ensure information provided consistently and accurately defines the Department's mission and the directorate's position on strategic privacy program matters and agency operations; and
Plan, organize, guide and control administration program operations by monitoring the administrative procedures and protocols, etc. of a privacy program.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
