The District of Columbia Courts are comprised of the Court of Appeals, the Superior Court and the Court System. The Executive Officer serves at the pleasure of the Chief Judges and the Joint Committee on Judicial Administration of the District of Columbia Courts. The Executive Officer is responsible for the administration and management of the District of Columbia Courts.  Directly supervises the Deputy Executive Officer and the Clerks of the Court.

Qualifications

Must be a bona fide resident of the District of Columbia or become one within 180 days of appointment. A Master’s degree in business, public administration, judicial administration or a related field or a law degree.  A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible administrative and management experience. To qualify you must provide evidence of progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Court Executive Service Core Qualifications (CESCQ) listed below. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the SES/CES level in the federal/DC Court service or its equivalent in the public/private sector. Candidates must possess senior level management and technical experience. Candidates experience must have been at a high level of difficulty to show clearly that the candidate possesses the professional and technical, as well as program knowledge, skills, and abilities outlines under the five CESCQ. Failure to meet the basic qualification and address the CESCQ factors automatically disqualifies an applicant.
