You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Division SPC SVC BR Special Projects of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. Salary Range for GS-05: $41,260.00 - $53,635.00 Salary Range for GS-07: $51,110.00 - $66,445.00 A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.

You will provide assistance in the monitoring and inspecting protection programs You will provide assistance in preparing documents associated with environmental protection programs You will provide assistance in tracking projects through completion

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZCAT certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZWOPER certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CDL license.
  • Incumbent must be certified to don personal protective equipment such as, full-face respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus and other safety equipment to level A capability.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in the monitoring and inspecting protection programs; 2) Assisting in preparing documents associated with environmental protection programs; and 3) Assisting in tracking projects through completion. GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in monitoring protection programs; 2) Assisting in processing correspondence associated with environmental protection programs; 3) Assisting in preparing reports for projects completed. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-05
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree

GS-07
1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
