Duties

You will coordinate environmental compliance programs for all Navy activities in the region ensuring consistency and effectiveness of all environmental programs. You will coordinate major environmental compliance issues and compliance regulatory agency concerns for the Region. You will implement initiatives between local, state and federal regulatory agencies and service component regional environmental coordinators to improve working relationships. You will determine mutually agreeable regulatory policy changes to alleviate Navy concerns. You will lead and oversee environmental compliance support and planning efforts for operational commands, fleets, and Navy Component Commands.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interpreting federal, state, and local environmental compliance laws, regulations, documentation and reporting requirements, lawmaking and rulemaking processes to assess the impact of an organization's activities on public safety, ecology, and environment. Applying concepts and practices of leadership and management to facilitate resolutions to organizational and personal conflict. Providing technical and professional guidance to an organization's environmental compliance program.
